Marli Williams [:

Hey, everybody. What is happening? I would love to welcome you back to the Marli Williams podcast where today I'm hanging out with my amazing friend, Lisette King, who is an emotional ninja. Her jam is all about helping you rewire your brain for possibility and performance so that you can have anything that you want in your life on a deep, deep level. So, Lisette, thanks for being here today, my friend.

Lisset King [:

Oh, my honor. Thank you for having me on to talk about mindset. It's my favorite thing.

Marli Williams [:

It's so good. And it's like I feel like mindset is, like, the number one game changer for people. Right? If we look at strategy and mindset when it comes to coaching or supporting people or you know, this podcast is really about leadership and helping people lead in their life, in their business. And a lot of people come. They're like, just tell me what to do. Like, right? Like, give me the strategy.

Lisset King [:

Yeah.

Marli Williams [:

And then I'll, like, take all of this bold inspired action. Mindset, I think, is, like, 90% of the game and, like, 10% is, like, strategy. Because you can have the best strategy in the world, but if your mindset isn't in alignment with that, that's where I see a lot of people get stuck, get stopped, and, you know, not essentially make the progress that they want to make. So, before we totally dive in, I would love for you to just, like I mean, I just said what you do a little bit, but if you want to give a little bit of background of where your zone of genius is coming from today, and then we can dive into, like, helping people really rewire their mindset for ultimate success. Let's go.

Lisset King [:

Let's do it. Well, yeah, I'll tell the people what I do. I'm a trainer of neurolinguistic programming, which essentially just means how we speak to ourselves is the programming of our mind, you know? And how we've been talking to ourselves throughout our entire lives is truly what's going to dictate what we get done. You know, information is cheap. We have ChatGPT. Give me the strategy to do blank. And you could sit on that information and not do anything with it. And what it comes down to is people usually will go based on what they believe at the deepest level.

Lisset King [:

So, there are tons of people making so much money doing the stupidest shit. And they just have they take the bold action because they believe they can. You know, there's just so many people out there that are successful and there's so many brilliant people that are not successful because they don't believe that the truth is at the deepest level that they can be. So, my work is essentially, what is that belief that's blocking you? When you got programmed at 4 or 5 years old, maybe, you know, your dad told you, you weren't smart enough or girls don't do that or, you know, men don't cry, anything. You took this on and you made up a story about yourself, whether that's I'm not worthy or I'm not good enough. And that has been what life has been reflecting back to you time after time after time. So, I help people find that thing, blow it out so they no longer believe it, and then they can take action.

Marli Williams [:

It is powerful stuff. And I want to reflect this back to you because we recently did a session together. And it was right before I had this big keynote in Dallas, and this story that I've been working for 40 years to release and let go of is this, like, not enough story. Like, no matter what I do, it's not enough, and that leads to this, like, kind of over performance, trying to, like, people pleasing, perfectionist, the fear of failure, the fear of messing up. And I will tell you, I felt more grounded than I ever felt. And, like, the biggest shift that I felt on stage last week was I feel like I finally trust myself. Usually, I get pretty nervous, and it was a different level of, like, groundedness and calm that I felt like I hadn't experienced before.

Marli Williams [:

And so, the work is real. The work is powerful, and I really want to help the people out there in the world today understand the power of their unconscious mind and how to work with it, how to understand, like, what are those thoughts, what are those beliefs. And when they come up, when those, like, the not good enough, I'm not worthy stories are there, it's kind of like a lot of people might be listening, they're like, yep. I have the not good enough story. I have the not worthy story. Or, like, perfectionist, it's like, again, you could have the best strategy. ChatGPT, tell me what to do to build a million-dollar business.

Marli Williams [:

Again, we get what we believe at the deepest level. And so, really helping people kind of understand their mindset in a whole new way and having some tools on how to move through it, how to navigate that so that they can have their mindset be supporting them and in alignment with their deepest desires, in alignment with the action they want to take with the strategies to build the life and the businesses that they want. So, where do you start with people when they come to you? Because a lot of people come to you, and they're like, I've done all the things. Therapy. I have gone to the retreats. I've read the books, and I'm still stuck. Lisette, help me. So, where do you begin with people? Or where should we kick things off today?

Lisset King [:

Yeah. I mean, the first half hour to an hour of my sessions because I do these long form sessions where it's like a day in a breakthrough session is like 5 years of therapy. And I've had review after review of people saying, I've gone to therapy for 10 years, never felt the expansion I felt in one day with you. So, that's something that is just magic. It's the magic I serve. It's the medicine I carry, and that's how I serve people. But, like, the first thing I do, we have to be on an even playing ground. And we have to understand your unconscious mind. And again, it's like an hour-long talk. I'll do my best to condense it as best I can. But your unconscious mind has 2 main jobs. Two main jobs. It needs to keep you alive. If you're listening to this podcast, your unconscious mind has been successful. It is doing its job. Yay. We are alive.

Lisset King [:

And the second one is to make you right. And it needs to make you right about the thing you believe on the deepest level. There are, I think, 8 billion people on the world right now. That's where the number is teetering. And of that, there are 8 million different realities. Every single person is the center of their universe living in their own reality, and their reality is reflecting back to them the thing that they believe in the deepest level. If you have an unworthy story, you will date all the people that show you how unworthy you are.

Lisset King [:

You could be the nicest, best person in the room and you will still have that person that reflects back to you. I'm a piece of shit. Right? Or I'm not cut out for that. I hear this story. It's not for me, it's for everyone else. Great. And that is the way the reality reflects to you over and over and over again. So, we have to understand, like, what is the thing that you believe at the deepest level that's not serving? Because there are great things going on in your life. You know, I have a lot of mantras that I believe and life reflects them back to me. I always say and anything I say can be borrowed. You know, there is no trademark on the truth. I always say, I always upgrade. I always upgrade no matter what I am, what I'm doing. Like, my body's upgrading, my relationships upgrade, whether it's from person to person or within my own relationship. My relationship with my partner, we are always upgrading. And that is something that my life reflects back to me.

Lisset King [:

But there was a time, once upon a time, where I just felt not good enough. And that one is, you know, I hate to say it's basic, but it's a little basic after doing this for, you know, 7 years. That is the most common thing. I'm not enough. I'm not good enough. I'm not worthy. I'm not lovable. Pick one of those. And it's like, if this is you, you know, can I get an amen? Like, when I believe that, my life reflected that to me consistently. I was the smartest person. I find myself being, like, the smartest person in the room and yet super unsuccessful. Like, I'm working these dead-end jobs and they just can't seem to get ahead or I had this thing about the world's not safe and that's what that would get reflected back to me by people that I can't trust being in my sphere, you know? And so, I had to really do my own work and then, you know, we're never done. New level, new devil, wherever we go, whenever we up level, there's an opportunity to cycle up and realize, oh, I'm going to make more money than I've ever made before. And to do that, your stuff will come up just like playing a video game. There's a bigger, badder monster, and that's what happens in your psyche is that when you're going for something completely new, you'll have either that old program wearing a new outfit, you know? Maybe it's not, I'm not enough. Maybe it's not, I'm not smart enough. Or maybe I'm not good looking enough or I'm not special enough. Like, it'll come up in a new flavor for you to break through, and I believe anything and everything is for your evolution. For me to be the greatest version of myself, I get to keep overcoming and finding where are these little monsters in my psyche, in my unconscious mind. What is the thing that's being reflected back to me that I'm tired of being reflected back to me? And what are the things that are working for me that I always upgrade? That works for me. You know?

Marli Williams [:

I love that, and I love looking at it from that perspective of evolution. Like, that we're always growing and learning and evolving. And, you know, when we're shifting our mindsets and our beliefs, it's not necessarily about going from, like, I'm not enough to, like, I am enough or I'm not smart enough and, like, I am smart enough. Like, it's not always the direct opposite. This idea of one of mine that I've adopted is I'm always learning and growing from this, like, I'm a perfectionist. Like, I'm not, you know, this not enough story versus I'm always learning and growing. I'm always and, again, I'm always upleveling or always upgrading. It's not always the direct opposite that we're trying to, like, replace it with.

Marli Williams [:

And knowing that that part of your story has served you up until a certain point, and that idea of, like, what got you here won't get you there. And in this journey of growth and evolution, really understanding, it's like, what is the cost of that belief? How is that limiting you? How is that holding you back? How is that stopping you from taking bold action? And, again, because our brains are wired for safety and survival, like you said. And so, I think that this piece of really reminding ourselves, like, I am safe no matter what and having a say in that and insourcing that sense of safety rather than, like, outsourcing that. So, it's starting with, like, really understanding, like you said, how our brain works. So, you said 2 things. Our brain is designed to keep us alive

Lisset King [:

And to make us right.

Marli Williams [:

And to make us right about what we believe at the deepest level. If you can really get this, your brain is trying to make you right all the time about what you believe at the deepest level. Meaning, like, if I have this not enough story and then I get some sort of, like, negative feedback from something, I'm like, see? I'm not enough. There it is. We could get 100 pieces of feedback. 99% of them are, like, you're amazing. And then we get that one that's, like, I didn't like it or, like, barely negative. And you're like, see. I'm a terrible person. I knew it. I'm out. I'm done. I'm going to give up. We kind of attach to the negative, and then with the positive, it just like because if we don't believe in our greatness, we can hear all that positive feedback and not actually hear it. Not actually take it in. I think that's why a lot of people, they hear a positive, like, compliment, and they almost can't hear it because there's a part of them that actually doesn't believe that it's true. Any piece of negative feedback, they're like, yep. I knew it.

Lisset King [:

Absolutely. This work has taught me, you know, just as important as a physical diet is your mental diet. What are you letting into your mind? What's the algorithm you're letting Instagram show you? Because people are like, oh my God. There’s just so much negativity on there. I’m like, no, there’re not. Not for me. I’ve trained my algorithm not to show me that and if you're going to let any little bit of information that's going to make you right about the thing you believe at the deepest level, you think the world's unsafe, you're going to get nonstop war images. You're going to get nonstop, this person got kidnapped, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Like, is that stuff happening? Absolutely. Is it occurring in my reality, in my personal reality? Not necessarily. So, why am I going to hijack my nervous system to believe that, to give me another thing to be afraid of in this moment.

Lisset King [:

And so, the diet, what you allow in your mind I hang out with high frequency people who can help me. Now I try to be the least smart person in the room so that I can learn from the people that I'm around. I have a partner that challenges me. You and I are friends and we lean on each other. And there's been times where you ask me something, I'm like, I'm not the who for you. You want me to help you find the thing to let go of? I got you. But to go to that next level, I'm going to ask you to find someone who's been there and take you there. But we go online and all day long listen to people complain about how much life sucks and they wonder, why isn't my life getting any better? You know? What conversations are you having? What are you reading? What are you spending your time doing? You know, because every moment why Instagram and Facebook are free is because you're the product. You know, they're getting ads in front of you. For that reason, you know, anything, I think it was in the Social Dilemma. It was insane because anything that you think is free, no. You're the product. You're what's being sold. Your attention is being sold. So, it's so important to focus your mind on what you want and not what you don't want. Your unconscious mind does not understand negatives. It's a GPS. This year, I don't want to have another shitty year. Your unconscious mind goes, okay, so you want a shitty year, coming right up. You know? I'm like, I'm tired of dating all these douchebags. Awesome. There's 1 coming in through your Tinder as we speak. Like, it's going to feed it back to you.

Marli Williams [:

I love that. You know, we said, like, thinking about don't think of an elephant, and your brain thinks of an elephant. So, our brains cannot understand the negative and the word don't. So, it's like, really, I really want to emphasize this when you're thinking about, like, I don't want to be in debt anymore, and I don't want to date a bunch of losers, and I don't want to have this terrible job or whatever. What do you want? We're both coaches and helping people get what they want, and that's like the number 1. What do you want? And often when that question comes up, people say 3 words, I don't know. Because they've never actually, like, sat with that question long enough to get really clear on what is it that you want. Because I think again, if you haven't done mindset work, we don't let ourselves want what we want because we don't think that we're worthy. We don't think that we deserve it. We're not enough. And so, it's almost like our brains won't let us go there because what if it doesn't work out? What if I say all these things that I want in a relationship, in a partner, and, you know, you helped me make my magic list to meet this incredible woman that I am now with. And I remember we sat down, and it was like, what else do you want? What else do you want? And I have, like, a giant piece of paper with a lot of things on it. And it wasn't like, oh, that's too much. That's too specific. You're never going to find anyone like that. How many times have people said that to themselves or you've said that to somebody else? You want too much.

Marli Williams [:

And I know me and you, we're like possibility people. We're like, this or something better. And what else do you want? Allowing yourself to want what you want. But at the deepest level, you have to believe that you are worthy of wanting what you want just because you want it.

Lisset King [:

Yes. The moment you want something and truly allow yourself to want it, like, first of all, you know, I'm big on magic. And magic just means using the unseen forces to support you in creating. That's it. Unseen forces bringing them to the physical. That's what we're doing with magic. And when you declare you want something and you put belief behind it, and you put, like, oomph and mana and energy behind it, get ready. Because if you don't have it, life is going to have to clear the space for you.

Lisset King [:

I was a part of a meditation group a few years ago, and someone had declared the kind of relationship they wanted. And they thought it was with the person they were with. And then the universe was like, nope. If you really want that, we're going to have to yank that out of your life. We're going to have to relocate you. And she felt like her life was falling apart. But when she landed on the other side, it was like she met the person. She was living where she truly wanted to live, all these things. That's what the universe does. I remember when I declared what I wanted in a person, I realized, oh, it's not with the person I'm with. It was so devastating because I really wanted it to work with that person. But the universe is like, if you put that down, you don't even know, like, what I can give you. You don't even like, my life has transformed when I allowed myself to go, okay, that's sad. There's a sacrifice that needs to be made. In Hawaiian, we say the law of Amama. There's a sacrifice that needs to be made for something new to come in.

Marli Williams [:

This is so powerful because what's coming up for me is thinking about if you don't know what you believe at the deepest level, look at your life. Meaning, whatever results you have in your life right now, the amount of money in your bank account, the type of relationship that you have, the type of job or career, like, everything in your life right now is a reflection of what you believe at the deepest level. And, again, it could be everything that you want. And if it's not what you want, this is why I think that question is so scary for people. Because if I want something better or different, that might mean my world, as I know it right now, might collapse. But it's like, again, everything is for our evolution and our growth, but our brains are wired for safety and survival. And so, if we're in a not great relationship or, like, my brain knows what that is like. That is the familiar. That is the known. I don't know anything else. And what if this is as good as it's going to get? What if I'm not ever going to be loved this well even though it's not that great? What if no one's going to love me? Because we have to let go of the known and the familiar for our evolution, growth, and expansion. People often say, like, I'll believe it when I see it. And this piece is about the reverse, I'll see it then I believe it. Our mindset going back to this piece, I think, really, really understanding and knowing, like, how powerful that is and how powerful our belief is. And this is where I think a lot of people, like you said, get stuck in, I'm doing all of the right things. I'm posting. I'm sending the emails. I'm I feel like I'm doing all the right things, but I'm not getting the results that I want. And so, it's like, what do you believe about that?

Lisset King [:

Yep. Your results are reflecting back to you specifically. Your world is a fun house mirror of your deepest belief. If the room you're in is cluttered, your mind is cluttered. If your body is in illness, there's something in your mind that's an illness. Bruce Lipton in biology of belief, he says, ourselves are affected by our environment first and foremost. The thing is, the environment of ourselves is our mind. And our environment beyond that is the environment we live in.

Lisset King [:

We have to remember; the mind is the barrier that affects ourselves. So, we believe I'm always in sickness or I'm ill or I had a client say, if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck. And so, her life constantly reflected to her bad luck constantly over and over and over and over again. And so, it becomes this thing, like, we have to realize what is it that our mind, how is our mind affecting our body and our outside as above, so below, as within, so without. And it's all just that fun house mirror of what you believe at the deepest level.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah. I want to go back to something that you said that I think is so important around this idea of, like, this mindset diet, if you will. And I don't love the idea of a diet, but it's really like filtering the information and setting yourself up for success around, again, your environment. But what are you letting in to your energetic space, to your thoughts and beliefs? Like, yeah, when you look at Facebook, when you look at Instagram, how are you filtering out, essentially, that algorithm to serve up what you want, to support your nervous system, to give you, you know, positive affirmations. Like, what we input is part of what we, you know, output, so to speak. Right? And what are we letting in? And like you said, who am I surrounding myself with? Am I surrounding myself with people who build me up or who break me down? I keep coming back to that quote. It's like, you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. And I agree. Like, I want to surround myself with people who have a possibility mindset, who are growing, who are evolving, who are up leveling themselves in their life. And I think that that's, like, the power of going on retreats and going to events and going to conferences and doing things with other people who believe what you believe or who believe what you want to believe if you're, like, kind of not quite there yet of being in that environment and being in that room.

Lisset King [:

Absolutely. If our unconscious mind's job is to keep us alive, anything that has been survived is now considered survivable. So, if you're used to having working a job or only making so much money or living paycheck to paycheck, your unconscious mind goes, I know that. That's survivable. I actually don't know what it's like to sit on 7 figures. I don't know what it's like to have investment properties. I don't know what it's like to be a business owner. You know, I don't know what it's like to lead groups. Things of that nature. It goes, I know how to do this. I know how to live at this level. I always bring up the idea of if you grew up in abuse, let's say you lived in an abusive household, your unconscious mind knows how to survive that. So, then you become an adult, and maybe your partner is not abusive in the physical way, but maybe they're mentally abusive. Maybe they're beating you down just a little bit and you're like, your unconscious mind is, I got this. I know how to do it. Yeah. But I don't know what it's like to be loved and seen for everything that's possible. Like, my nervous system has had to get used to someone loving me completely. And so, the question becomes, where do we go from here? Like, when you're aware that your unconscious mind is safety, survival and making you right, you have to stretch it. You have to show it. First of all, you can survive something bigger. I'm a bit of an extreme sports junkie in a different way. Like, you know, where people like to jump out of airplanes and, like, climb mountains? I like to go to the depths of my psyche. My extreme sport is psychedelic medicine. Right?

Marli Williams [:

Totally.

Lisset King [:

And for me, when I experience the darkest parts of my mind and go, I see you and I can survive that and we're going to push the limit. I'm going to see what it's like to be loved completely. And I'm going to tell my nervous system we can survive this.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah. I remember being at bridge with Preston and Alexei, and we talked about this idea of increasing your capacity and your somatic body to hold everything that you want and more. Can I hold this even when it's uncomfortable? And that's where it's like we put our hand on our heart, and it's like, I'm safe. And there is a kind of almost a reparenting ourselves because it's teaching our brains that being loved unconditionally is safe or getting in front of a room full of people is safe when that feels terrifying, and our nervous system gets activated by the things that we want. Oh, I want to create content and create a podcast or do YouTube videos, and then we freeze up in front of the camera because we're like, ah, like, the fear of judgment and all the not enough, what if nobody loves it? What if nobody loves me? And it's like, I am safe. I am safe. I am safe. And one of my mantras, you know, as a speaker, whenever I'm about to do something like this podcast, getting on stage, it's like, just show up and serve. Because so often, that that limiting story is really about kind of our ego wanting to protect ourselves from the judgment from other people. And our ego wants to get it right and look good versus I'm here to serve the medicine I'm meant to serve for who I meant to serve it to. And as I like to say about, you know, when we talk about being a magnetic leader, magnets do 2 things. Right? They attract and they repel. You are going to draw in the people that are drawn to you and that you're meant to serve your medicine to, and we don't have to be everything to everyone. And I think that's just so important to recognize that it's like reminding ourselves that we're safe. It's safe to show up and serve people. And at the end of the day, not everybody's going to love it. Not everybody's going to like it. Negative feedback's going to come.

Marli Williams [:

And the more visible we are, the more vulnerable we are. And what are we filtering in? What are we listening to? And when those things happen as they inevitably do, how do we rewrite those stories and not get stuck down that negative I'm not good enough spiral, it's like noticing, oh, there's that story again. I see you. I hear you. I know you're trying to keep me safe, but this isn't serving me anymore, and I want to create a new possibility. So, like, I would love to just create a new possibility with you in this space right here, right now, all the people to see. It's one thing to, like, talk about this in theory, but it's another thing to, like, practice it in reality. And, you know, a lot of people, I think, listen to the podcast or see me speak, and they're like, Marli has no fear, has no self-doubt, totally believes in herself. It's not true. We all have stuff we're working through, and that's part of the human experience. So, we're going to do, like, the miniest, tiniest, little breakthrough sesh right here, right now for people to see it, hear it, feel it, and for people to also see what's possible for them in this space.

Lisset King [:

Oh, it's so exciting. So, first thing I would do is let's find some baggage. Right? We got to find baggage to do it. So, everyone who is listening to this, I could take you through this 1st part. We could find your limiting belief. So, that's exciting. What I'm going to do with Marli to release it is a bit of energy work. We're going to do some higher self-therapy and, like, let the higher self, do some work on it. And also, it's best when guided. So, let's find some baggage. Does that sound good, Marli?

Marli Williams [:

I love it. Let's do it.

Lisset King [:

Awesome. 1st question, what do you want? What do you want because you want it? What do you want because you want it? Not because it solves a problem, but what would you like to have and experience in your world? And I would invite everyone to think of something that they desire.

Marli Williams [:

I want to create an epic event that feels so easy to sell out. Like, I open up registration. Tickets are sold out. That's what I want. Lots of people. Stage, lights, camera, action, and I want to have so much fun doing it. And I want to feel fun and easy.

Lisset King [:

Fun and easy. Great. And I'm just going to ask everyone who's listening to think of something that they want. What they want just because they want it, what would they like to experience? And just bring it to mind. And I'm going to have you Marli, go ahead and close your eyes. I want you to just put yourself out into a time in the future and that's best by time where this is happening, where you're at your epic event that you have put on. It's sold out. There are tons of people, it's fun, it's easy. They're all there for you. See it? Turn up the colors. Turn up the sounds. Turn up the feeling of what it's like. Now I'm going to plop your consciousness out of that version of you, float above it. Whatever you thought about at home, once you put yourself back in your body, and the 1st answer that comes about the 1st answer, just trust it. Marli, why don't you have that now?

Marli Williams [:

Everybody loves me. No one wants to pay me.

Lisset King [:

Everybody loves me. Nobody wants to pay me. Love it.

Marli Williams [:

That's my story.

Lisset King [:

Awesome. Yeah. And I just want to talk about it for a second. Everybody loves you. Nobody wants to pay you. Is your life reflecting that to you right now?

Marli Williams [:

It feels like that sometimes. Yeah. It feels like that.

Lisset King [:

Yeah. Maybe in this past week, has that light, has that truth or that thing you feel deepest level, has that been reflected back at you?

Marli Williams [:

Yeah. Definitely.

Lisset King [:

Yeah. The limiting belief is actually the limiting belief that has center stage right now. So, everyone at home, when you answer that question, that is your limiting belief. That's the thing that's keeping you from everything that you want.

Marli Williams [:

I feel that.

Lisset King [:

Yeah. Okay. Do you want to let that shit go?

Marli Williams [:

100%.

Lisset King [:

We're going to let that shit go. I'm going to do a little bit of energy work. And so, this is where my alternative therapy complimentary, it's really hard to put into a box. I like to say NLP sells my tickets. Kuna and energy work is what actually solves the problem. And so, we're going to do a little energy work and I'm just going to allow you, is it okay for you to release this belief that everybody loves you and nobody wants to pay you? And for you to be aware of it consciously.

Marli Williams [:

Yes. I am ready to release that.

Lisset King [:

Awesome. I want you to just go ahead and close your eyes. And I'm just going to be flowing in some energy into the space. I'll be doing some breathing. Marli, I want you to light up all the events and baggage related to this, including the 1st event, the root cause of this which when disconnected will allow it to release easily and effortlessly. Now let me know when you feel it nice and activated in your body, in your unconscious mind. Good. Alright. Pay attention to it and let me know what has subsided.

Lisset King [:

Yeah. Good. Keep letting that pass through. Imagine yourself cutting all the cords between you and everyone who contributed to this belief. Forgiving them, cutting the cords, it is not anything to take personally. Feeling the light come in, feeling the truth of who you are come in. Learn what you need to learn from this past week, from this belief. And as you learn from this belief, you no longer have to hold on to it.

Lisset King [:

When you get the wisdom, we release the emotion, and that's the most important thing. So, holding on to that wisdom, asking your unconscious mind to go to your higher self, get new strategies for new ways of being who you want to be, doing what you want to do, and having what you want to have in the future. And install them in such a way that they'll be present whenever you want them, and just let all of that float in to your knowing, to your being. When you're ready, you can come back into the space.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah.

Lisset King [:

Alright. I just want to check. Okay? Just want to check-in with you. Few minutes ago. At the deepest level, you believe that everybody loves you and nobody wants to pay you. How do you feel about that belief right now?

Marli Williams [:

It's bullshit.

Lisset King [:

It's absolute.

Marli Williams [:

Kind of almost like after I said it, I was like, that's not true, and I have so much evidence of that not being true.

Lisset King [:

Yeah. However, it had a hold on you.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah.

Lisset King [:

It had a hold on you. So, this is the work that I do is it's great to find the thing, but there's so many people who have done a ton of therapy. I was included in that, and I knew what the thing was. I could tell you, I'm like, no. But look, this is my, I'm not good enough, but can't you see? And I had story after story after story after story that I could tell you and I could prove to you how not good enough I am. And then I went, well, that's bullshit. And I literally put it behind me. And then my world stopped reflecting that back to me.

Lisset King [:

I'm excited to see what this next week brings to you. Because what do you believe that's truer than that old belief? What learnings or, wisdom did you get from that process? Share it with the people.

Marli Williams [:

I was just like, that's not true. And I think it's interesting to ask, like, well, what's truer? I was also like; everybody doesn't love me. So, I was like, a lot of people like me, you know, and people have paid me and will pay me. And I think it's, like, even below that was, like, what I have to offer isn't enough. I think that's really below the people love me, but they don't want to pay me. It's like people don't value what I have because I can't communicate what it is that I do. And, again, even below that is what I have isn't enough. Like, no matter what I do or what I put out there, it still feels hard to fill a room. And, like so, like, the big thing was I want to create something that feels easy to sell out, easy to fill. Because it's like every time I create something, I'm like, here's this thing, and I get super jazzed about it. And then if people don't want to sign up right away, then I'm like, dang it. It's the wrong thing or it's too much or people don't see the value or see the value in me or whatever it is. And then I go, like, down a spiral of, like, see?

Lisset King [:

Mm-hmm. So, at the even deeper level, what you have is not enough.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah.

Lisset King [:

Do you still believe that one? And it's okay if you do.

Marli Williams [:

Oh, I think there's a part of me that does.

Lisset King [:

So, there's a bit of 2 things going on here. This is so fun. This is exciting. What you have is not enough, and I cannot communicate it. Okay? So good. We got through the bullshit of everybody loves me, nobody wants to pay me. And then we got deeper, even deeper still to another level. Okay? What do you have to offer people?

Marli Williams [:

Great question.

Lisset King [:

What do you have to offer people? What do people get out of you?

Marli Williams [:

At the end of the day, I feel like I help people believe in themselves.

Lisset King [:

Great.

Marli Williams [:

And it's, like, one of those, like, well, we teach what we most need to learn. Right? Like, the medicine that I need is, like, can I believe that? And, ultimately, teaching people that whatever they have is enough, and they take action. They get unstuck. They move things forward. They put things out in the world. They do the thing. They get inspired. They get motivated. They get moved by possibility and helping people see what’s possible from themselves and like, helping them believe that they can freaking do it and then helping them actually do it.

Lisset King [:

Got it. So, what do you need to hear? Go ahead and close your eyes. Allowing that access to your higher self, the part of you that has all the answers, the part of you that is connected to the superconscious source, whatever you want to call it. What do you need to hear to believe in yourself?

Marli Williams [:

That what I have to offer is enough of things that I just said. It's like I think that it constantly feels like, oh, but I need to add sparkles and sprinkles and, you know, like, those things are somehow not enough. And I think what I have to believe is that that actually is enough and that it's something that people value. It's something that people want, and it's something that people will pay me for.

Lisset King [:

Okay. So, you just told yourself that that is enough. Is knowing that going to make you take inspired action?

Marli Williams [:

I think so. Is that a trick question?

Lisset King [:

No. No. This is the answer. Right? So, I want you to go ahead and close your eyes.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah.

Lisset King [:

We're just going to keep playing with this. I want you to go out to that time now and specify time in the future where you're in a sold-out room.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah.

Lisset King [:

You're doing an epic event. And it has felt easy to sell it out. It was fun, and there's a ton of people there because you're going to help them believe in themselves and take inspired aligned action. K? That version of you that's standing in that room right there, what does she believe about herself that makes that possible? Truly, at the deepest level, what is she believing in herself that has made this entire picture possible?

Marli Williams [:

She believes that that is enough and that people want it and need it. Like, I think that she believes that, like, it has the power to change people's lives at the end of the day. You know? I think the big thing for me is, like, it's not about the information. It's about what people do with it and getting people in a room and then having them do take some bold action while they're there, the energy of that space and helping people, like, step into a new possibility and being in the arena.

Lisset King [:

And how many times have you done that?

Marli Williams [:

A lot.

Lisset King [:

You've actually already done this. Your unconscious mind knows that you're capable of helping people believe in themselves, take bold and inspiring action. It knows that you've spoken in front of tons of people on all kinds of things. Can it see that image turn into 1?

Marli Williams [:

Oh, yeah. I mean, and it's really cool because last week, I went to go visit the space that I was envisioning for the event. And so, I am like I was literally picturing, like, that room full of people, the energy, and the buzz, and, like, who I want to bring and, like, who I want to invite, and just the possibility of that feels super exciting to me, honestly.

Lisset King [:

Excellent. So, in this moment, do you believe in yourself?

Marli Williams [:

100%.

Lisset King [:

And in this moment, do you feel like you have inspired action to take?

Marli Williams [:

Yeah. I'm going to just say it right here, right now on the podcast.

Lisset King [:

Say it.

Marli Williams [:

So, I have a 2-day event coming up in Portland, Oregon, July 6th and 7th. It is a Saturday, Sunday, and it's going to be an event to help people see a new possibility for themselves, connect with other amazing humans, and take bold inspired action in service of the hell yes life that they want to create. So, I'm going to freaking do it. I don't have tickets available yet, but they will be. And I'm just going to contact the venue, figure out what I need to do to save the spot, and make it happen because that's what feels alive, aligned, and exciting to, like, create an experience like that. 500 people in 1 room.

Lisset King [:

That's easy. You've done it before. You'll do it again.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah.

Lisset King [:

And if I could just say, I have personally worked with Marli and I have spent thousands of dollars to get the amount of time you're going to get with her in 1 weekend at a fraction of the cost. You've ever thought about like, man, this woman is so inspiring. She serves me at the highest capacity. And you want to believe in yourself and you want to really take inspired action, which she has allowed me and served me and helped me stand in the confidence of what I do.

Lisset King [:

So, let me read the testimonial. The work that I've done with you has been so outstanding. Anytime I've been in the space where you've been facilitating, I do believe in myself more than ever. I am inspired to take action. I'm great at supporting people and letting go of baggage. I help myself remove, release baggage all the time. The inspired action bit was something that I was not taking action on, and I broke through that with working with Marli. If this is a call, if you feel even an inkling of, I need to be there, just get yourself there.

Marli Williams [:

Oh, thank you. Thank you for that. And that's what I think I love so much is, yeah, helping incredible badass leaders, movers, shakers, changemakers, people that want to do epic things in the world, and it really is getting people into that inspired, imperfect action and getting people in the arena, like, doing the thing. And I think that that's, like, what lights me up the most. And I just feel really lit up about, like, creating an experience like this. This is going to be something that again, part of me has done it before, but I've never done something like this before. And it feels like an exciting next step on the journey to help more people. And that is what I'm on this planet to do. And it's, like, build the stage, bring the people, create the community, create the experience that I know that I can, and I feel super stoked about it.

Lisset King [:

Fantastic. I would say that's a change from the beginning of this conversation.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah. A 100%. And so, I mean, the reason I wanted to do that with you, like, live on the call, which feels, I will say, vulnerageous, is like, anybody that you look up to is doing their own work to break through the bullshit that's holding them back and keeping them stuck because I know that I am here to serve people. I also know that I get stuck. I get stopped. I get in my own way. I have the fears. I have the doubts. I know I have beliefs that don't serve me. And that is why I surround myself with people like you, and I get mentorship and I get support and I get coaching and I go to events and I surround myself with people who help me believe in myself. And that's why I want to create an experience where it's like, imagine being in a room with 500 people who fucking believe in you where you're seeing other people take action. It's like, what else could we do in this space together? Like, I just think that feels so exciting.

Lisset King [:

I'm so excited for this event. I will be there.

Marli Williams [:

Yeah. I dig it. I'm freaking pumped. I'm so pumped. I'm like, let's freaking go. And, I'll keep you all posted once tickets are live. I'm going to get on it this week because I am feeling really lit up about it.

Lisset King [:

We have dates. Right?

Marli Williams [:

Dates. July 6th and 7th. When we get off this, I'm going to email them right now and be like, hold the date. Portland, Oregon, July 6th and 7th. Hell YES Live. Summit of awesomeness. Alright. So, I'm curious, Lisette. Final thoughts to lead people with today, and where can people learn about you, do a breakthrough with you if they're tired of their own BS and they want to get on to the other side of the magic? Let the people know.

Lisset King [:

Absolutely. So, best way to get in contact with me, get on my calendar, I do a free consultation call. It's an hour long. Let's get to know each other. You're going to get something out of this call whether we decide to work with each other or not. My website, lissetking.com. That's LISSETKING.com. And I offer free hypnosis tracks so people can hear my smooth, silky voice like put a, you know, getting positive affirmations in their mind. So, you get a free hypnosis track on there. You can follow me at Lisett King official on Instagram. And, yeah, I live to serve people. My greatest like, when I knew this was my calling was, I just wanted to work with leaders. I want the people who are doing massive things and just have the tiniest BS. Like, that little BS statement of this is what's blocking me, we got deeper, dig out, dug into it, found the belief to replace it, and now you're taking inspired action. That's what we do in a breakthrough session. You know, we create the space for catharsis for you to let it go.

Lisset King [:

I say you're going to tell your victim story for the last time, so make it a good one. And then we get to the other side of it, and action is inevitable.

Marli Williams [:

I love that. New possibilities. So good.

Lisset King [:

Limitless possibilities.

Marli Williams [:

Limitless, baby. Yeah. So, I mean, I would invite people if you're listening to this, ask yourself. Go through that exercise that we just went through. What do you want? What do you want at the deepest level just because you want it? Put yourself in that time and place. Look at the belief that's holding you back. Create a new one. Work with Lisset. Come to Hell YES Live. Do all the things. Surround yourself with people who support you, inspire, believe in you.
